I have spent my whole life bouncing back and forth between atheism and unfettered faith and obedience to an old-school God "out there", and later, to a more nuanced and opaque god "in here".I'm sure a graduate degree from Harvard contributed to the bipolar dance, following years as a zealot Mormon missionary raised in an eclectic Salt Lake City mormon family of 8 kids. Additionally, being diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder thirty years ago further complicated the flipflop dialectic.I feel like I have finally found a spiritual teacher in Joyce Hawkes who will be able to help me bridge the gap between spirit and science, physical and metaphysical, life and death, and multiple states of consciousness at a soul and quantum cell level. I loved the book and look forward to expanding my toolkit as a professor, and eventually, becoming a much more balanced teacher and healer.
